20/09/2011
Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council is to show its support for a wide spectrum of sports by providing over £60,000 for local bodies. Under the Sports Development Revenue Fund 2011-2012, the Council has made a recommendation to provide £4,000 towards the Ulster branch of the Irish Table Tennis Association; and £20,000 each for Dungannon Football Club and the Irish Football Association. It has also been recommended at a meeting of the Council that a further £20,000 be give to Tyrone County Board providing the Board demonstrates that it covers the difference. The Council has committed a total of £100,000 to initiatives for a period of one year, July 2011 to June 2012, with the maximum funding provided to each successful applicant not exceeding £20,000. Applicants were required to demonstrate match funding of at least 50 per cent of the total applied for. Source: Tyrone Courier
